TRM JV and varsity volleyball teams sweep Monroe

In just their second games of the season Thursday in Monroeville, the T.R. Miller JV and varsity volleyball teams swept Monroe County to stay undefeated this season.
The JV Lady Tigers won 2-0 over Monroeville as they took set one 25-14 and set two 25-8.
In set one, Caitlyn Smith had 10 service points and five assists while Taylor Austin had four points and three kills.
In set two, Grace Ruzic added nine service points and four assists while Lizzy Pollitte had six service points and Mykayla Harrison added three kills.
In varsity action, T.R. Miller won 25-18 in set one, 25-16 in set two and 25-17 in set three.
In set one, Karisa Nelson led with 10 service points and four kills while Moriah Brundidge had three service points and six assists. Amelia Peach had three kills.
In the set two win, Peach led with seven service points and three kills while Brundidge had four service points and six assists. Brittany Warrant added four service points.
In set three, Brundidge led with eight service points and four assists while Peach had eight service points and three kills. Abbi Roberts chipped in four kills in the win.
“Monroe County has a very athletic team and they did some good things,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “I thought my team played very hard. We made some mistakes and we have some things to correct, but they played very hard from start to finish. That’s all we ask them to do is play hard and everything else will take care of itself.”
T.R. Miller’s teams will host Bayside Academy at home Monday at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
