Walker Brothers Circus coming to Brewton

A time-honored tradition of an evening at the circus is coming to Brewton — thanks to the Brewton Civitan Club.
Michael English, president of the local service organization, said the plans to bring the Walker Brothers Circus to town have taken shape.
“This group was here two years ago and was well received by the community,” English said.
English said Walker Brothers Circus crews will be in town for one evening only offering two shows on Monday, Oct. 7, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
“That gives everyone a chance to see the show at the time that’s best for them,” English said. “This group is really entertaining and I’m glad they are such a family-friendly group. They will have you laughing one minute and amazed the next.”
English said advance tickets are available at English Realty and at the Greater Brewton Area YMCA. Advance tickets are $12 with tickets on the evening of the performances $14 at the gate.
“We wanted to have a fundraiser for local groups and this opportunity was perfect for that,” English said. “Purchasing tickets in advance gives people a little break on the cost and it keeps more money here in our community. Half of the money raised will benefit the Greater Brewton Area YMCA youth recreation with the other half going to the Civitan Club so that we can continue our work with children with developmental disabilities.”
The circus will set up in the parking lot beside Tractor Supply Company on Douglas Avenue in the old Kmart shopping Center.
