Two Brewton residents are behind bars after being arrested on drug charges Monday night.

Escambia County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said an anonymous tip lead officers to the travel trailer residence off Jernigan Road.

Jonathan Ryan Boswell, 21, and Felicia Ann Ryals 29, were arrested at their residence at Alice’s Trailer Park on Jernigan Road without incident.

“We got a tip that there might be some drugs here,” Lambert said Monday night. “We came and knocked on the door and asked for permission to search. After getting the consent, we located a white powder substance. A field test on the substance was positive for crystal methamphetamine.”

Lambert said a further search of the residence lead to the discovery of a bottle containing a clear liquid that was considered suspicious.

“We field tested the contents of the bottle and it also have a positive result for crystal methamphetamine,” Lambert said. “The liquid just had not been turned into crystal yet.”

Lambert and three other officers with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department conducted a thorough search of the residence before transporting the suspects to the Escambia County Detention Center.

The pair was booked into the jail and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond was set at $5,000 for each of the two suspects.
