JDCC volleyball ends season with 1-18 record

In their final game of the season Monday night at Pensacola State College in Pensacola, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team ended their season with a 1-18 overall record.
The Lady Warhawks lost 3-0 to PSC as they dropped set one 25-12, set two 25-6 and set three 25-13.
First-year head coach Allen Gainer said despite the rough season for his team, he is still proud of his Lady Warhawks.
“It was a tough year, but I’m so proud of how hard the girls continued to work and try all the way to the last day,” Gainer said. “I’m confident that they will improve in the off season and next year will be different.”
Snead 3, JDCC 1
In their final home and conference game of the 2013 season Wednesday afternoon the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball took a 3-1 loss to Snead State. With the loss, JDCC fell to 1-17 overall and to 0-14 in conference play.
JDCC took a loss in the opening set by a score of 25-8 and fell behind 2-0 after dropping the second set 25-9.
In the third set, the Lady Warhawks of JDCC came to life as they jumped out to leads of 5-1 and 16-8. Leading 19-18, JDCC fell behind 20-19 but tied the match up at 20-all.
After a 21-all tie, JDCC went ahead 23-21 before Snead cut the lead to 23-22. From there, JDCC got the final two points needed for the win to take a 25-22 win and head to the fourth set down 3-1.
In the fourth set, Snead jumped out to a 5-0 lead and led 23-9 before claiming the 25-10 win over the Lady Warhawks.
Leading the way for JDCC in the loss was Brittney Forsythe with seven service points, one ace and three kills.
Shunetta Adams had five service points, one ace and two kills while Kyndal Cunningham had six service points.
