TRM’s Jackson recognized by ASWA for five touchdown performance in round one

OFFENSE
Lamarcus Adair, Pike County: Rushed for 212 yards on 41 carries with one touchdown as the Bulldogs upset ninth-ranked Trinity in the Class 3A playoffs, 21-14.
Jakoby Aldridge, Sweet Water: Turned 20 caries into 172 yards and two touchdowns (8, 50) in 46-0 win over Goshen.
Earnest Andrews, Fairhope: Rushed for 252 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries as the Pirates rallied to beat Pelham 39-35.
Gerrard Beasley, Central-Florence: Rushed for 179 yards and three TDs on 13 carries in a 58-45 win over St. Clair County. Beasley scored on runs 22, 64 and 5 yards, and also caught a 19-yard TD pass.
Jordan Bentley, Guntersville: Rushed 17 times for 184 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-0 victory over Brooks in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs. Bentley’s TD runs covered 3, 59, 2 and 25 yards, giving him a school-record 33 on the season. He also became Guntersville’s single-season rushing leader with 1,633 yards.
DeMarcus Bingham, Foley: Caught six passes for 149 yards and a 72-yard TD in the Lions win at Prattville.
Landy Capetillo, Carver-Montgomery: Caught five passes for 170 yards with a 55-yard touchdown in a 31-12 win at Blount.
Ryan Carpenter, Colbert County: Rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-14 win over Plainview. His TD runs covered 2 and 55 yards.
Brian Clark, Clay-Chalkville: Grabbed three scoring passes (21, 45, and 65 yards), all in the first half among his five total catches for 141 yards, in the 56-35 win over Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.
Dallas Cockerham, Lamar County: Rushed for 135 yards on 29 carries, ran for a touchdown and threw for another in a 32-21 win over Samson.
Josh Crawford, Edgewood: Ran for 229 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries in a 45-6 win over South Choctaw Academy. TDs covered 63, 42 and 32 yards.
Garrett Crider, Cullman: Ran for 141 yards and a TD on 30 carries and led the game-winning drive which ended with a touchdown as time expired in a 20-14 victory over Moody.
Dantley Coker, Southside-Gadsden: Rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-14 win over Wenonah.
Gage Davis, Gaylesville: Rushed for 140 yards on 24 carries in the Trojans’ 36-13 loss at top-ranked Pickens County.
Troy Dixon, UMS-Wright: Rushed for 173 yards and a TD as the Bulldogs beat Handley 31-13.
Cory Gill, Cottonwood: Threw for 340 yards off 28-of-47 passing with three touchdowns in a 56-26 loss to Oakman.
Drew Guy, Fayette County: Completed 16 of 27 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown in a 17-7 win over Opp. He completed 12 of 14 passes for 222 yards in the second half.
Nathan Harris, Gulf Shores: Threw a TD pass to Corey Kelley, ran 19 times for 95 yards and caught a 6-yard TD pass from Parker Mason in the Dolphins’ 28-21 loss at Saraland.
Jamarius Henderson, Dale County: Carried only 14 times in less than three quarters, but earned 234 yards rushing and five TDs in a 53-6 win over B.B. Comer. He scored on runs of 7, 23, 70, 18 and 15 yards.
Dominique Jackson, T.R. Miller: Ran for 188 yards on 11 carries and scored five TDs in playoff victory over American Christian, leading three backs who ran for more than 100 yards. Jackson had scores of 80, 12, 46, 18 and 11.
Ethan Jimmerson, Sand Rock: Caught five passes for 111 yards and a 60-yard touchdown. He also had an interception on defense in the Wildcats’ 35-21 loss at Montgomery Academy.
Matthew Jordan, Jackson: Threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns as the unbeaten Aggies rolled over LeFlore 50-20. Jordan completed 14 of 17 passes and also ran 13 times for 61 yards.
Brandon Lewis, Fultondale: Ran for 302 yards and three touchdowns (50, 7 and 30 yards) on 23 carries in the 20-0 win over Lexington.
Cortez Lewis, Demopolis: Hauled in five passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns (30, 42) while also blocking an extra point in 21-14 loss to St. Paul’s.
Isaiah Lewis, Foley: Rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries as the Lions upset Prattville 30-15 on the road.
Dylan Mackey, Sand Rock: Completed 19 of 33 pass attempts for 300 yards and three touchdowns (56, 60, 29 yards) in the 35-21 loss at Montgomery Academy.
Terrell Martin, Moody: Hauled in all seven of Michael Barron’s completions for 117 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown, in a 20-14 loss to Cullman.
Carter McGill, American Christian Academy: Caught five passes for 184 yards in a 54-28 loss to T.R. Miller, with touchdown catches of 66 and 19 yards.
Jake McKenzie, Monroe Academy: Ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries in a 48-7 win over Lee-Scott Academy.
Dominique McNealey, J.O. Johnson: Carried 12 times for 122 yards and touchdowns of 1 yard and 3 yards in a 49-16 win over Lincoln. McNealey also caught a 3-yard scoring pass.
Keith Mixon, Shades Valley: Recorded 205 all-purpose yards and scored five touchdowns in the 49-19 win over Buckhorn. Mixon ran for 76 yards on 11 carries and three scores (3, 7 and 30 yards), grabbed seven passes for 33 yards with a 10-yard touchdown and returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score.
Kamryn Pettway, Prattville: Carried 19 times for 184 yards, with touchdown runs of 56 and 10 yards, in a 30-15 loss to Foley in the Class 6A playoffs.
Luke Phillips, St. Luke’s: Threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score in the Wildcats’ 21-20 win over Billingsley. Phillips completed 9-of-12 passes for 164 yards.
Shade Pritchett, Marengo Academy: A tight end, Pritchett took four rare handoffs and produced 124 yards and two touchdowns (56, 47) in 51-14 win over Chambers Academy.
Tyreek Ricks, New Hope: Needed only seven carries to run for 116 yards and two scores in the first half of a 54-14 win at New Hope. Ricks’ scoring runs covered 25 and 40 yards.
Logan Rogers, Hamilton: Rushed for three TDs and threw a halfback pass for another touchdown as Hamilton topped Weaver 33-18. His touchdown pass covered 41 yards. He had two 2-yard TD runs and one 1-yard TD and finished with 166 yards on 21 carries.
Tyler Rogers, Mobile Christian: Rushed for 247 yards and four touchdowns as the Leopards snapped their three-game losing streak with a 55-27 victory over Elba.
C.J. Savage, Piedmont: Caught three passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns (72, 14 yards) in the 38-0 win over Winfield.
Lee Seale, Wilcox Academy: Rushed for 300 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-14 win over Coosa Valley Academy.
Devonte’ Simon, Pickens County: Rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 167 yards and a touchdown in a 36-13 win over Gaylesville. He scored on runs of 4, 44 and 90 yards and threw a 43-yard touchdown pass.
Ito Smith, McGill-Toolen: Rushed for 180 yards on 23 carries, including an 80-yard TD run, as the Yellow Jackets edged Opelika 21-20.
Landon Smothers, Muscle Shoals: Ran for 108 yards and touchdowns of 51 and 30 yards, and threw for 95 yards and scores of 39 and 26 yards in a 55-6 win over Mortimer Jordan.
Sherman Starks, Center Point: Caught three passes for 163 yards (54.3 yards a catch) in the 24-22 loss to Athens.
Hayden Stephens, Tanner: Scored on runs of 1 yard, and 20, 10 and 72 yards in a 41-29 win over Woodville.
Austin Stiefel, Fyffe: Carried eight times for 155 yards and one touchdown, caught a 48-yard touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 90 yards for a TD as the Red Devils downed Isabella 56-30 in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs. His scoring run covered 78 yards.
Dylan Stone, Glencoe: Passed for 254 yards and four touchdowns to go along with a rushing score in a 49-35 win over Hanceville.
Ryan Sullivan, Falkville: Threw touchdown passes of 55, 21 and 27 yards, and scored on a one-yard run as the Blue Devils won their first playoff game since 1999 with a 35-14 victory over Shoals Christian.
Rasheed Turner, Restoration Academy: Gained 162 yards with two TDs on nine carries in the 47-0 win over Sparta Academy.
Blake Wimberly, Madison Academy: Ran for 145 yards and TDs of 47, 45 and 3 yards on eight carries in a 49-7 win over J.B. Pennington. Wimberly also recorded five tackles, including two sacks.
LaDarius Young, Midfield: Rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries and caught two passes for 77 yards, including a 68-yard score in the 36-13 win over Slocomb.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
Blake Bean, Oneonta: Had nine tackles, four for loss, and a sack in a 56-0 win over West Limestone.
Jeremiah Chaney, Berry: Recorded 12 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in a 20-14 win over Donoho.
Taylor Daugherty, Glencoe: Had 17 tackles, including two for a loss, in a 49-35 win over Hanceville.
Remington Fowler, Geneva County: Had two interceptions — one at the 6 yard line to end a St. Jude threat, the other a 33-yard return for a touchdown — in a 33-6 win over the Pirates.
Samuel Grisham, Lauderdale County: Recovered a fumble, returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown and rushed for 113 yards from his quarterback position to lead the Tigers past Geraldine 31-6 in the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs. Grisham paced a Tigers’ defense that held the Bulldogs to a season low six points and just 144 total yards.
Andrew Hoddnette, Lakeside: Blocked an extra point with two minutes to go to give Lakeside 26-25 win over Pickens Academy.
Terrance Hollingsworth, Berry: Recovered a fumble and had six tackles in a 20-14 victory over Donoho. On offense, he rushed for 130 yards on 23 carries and threw two touchdown passes.
Demetrius Kemp, Demopolis: Recorded eight tackles, an interception and a forced fumble in which he hawked down a ball carrier at the end of a 51-yard run and stripped the ball just before the runner crossed the goal line during a 21-14 loss to St. Paul’s.
Zakeith Lanier, Autaugaville: Finished with 13 tackles, including the game-ending stop in overtime, in a 28-20 victory over A.L. Johnson.
Ty Mattox, Trinity: Had 20 tackles in a 21-14 loss to Pike County.
Griffin McCarley, Haleyville: Had two interceptions, including one he returned 30 yards for a touchdown, as Haleyville downed Fairview 37-6.
Bram McGrady, Athens: Drilled a 45-yard field goal with five seconds to go to give the Golden Eagles a 24-22 win at Class 5A No. 6 Center Point.
Larry Morris, Deshler: Recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff to set up a touchdown and later had an interception as Deshler beat New Hope 54-14.
Stetson Payne, G.W. Long: Had two interceptions, returning for one for a 60-yard touchdown on the last play of the first half, in a 32-22 win over Aliceville.
Dant’e Reese, Hanceville: Picked off a pass, recovered a fumble and caught six passes for 79 yards in a 49-35 loss to Glencoe.
Tyler Sims, Saraland: Returned a punt 70 yards for a score as the Spartans improved to 10-1 with a 28-21 win over Gulf Shores.
Trenton Suddeth, Addison: Had a 54-yard scoop-and-score, as well as a pair of tackles for loss, for a first-string Bulldog D that gave up just 13 total yards and two first downs in the first half of a 48-6 win over Phillips-Bear Creek. The playoff victory was Addison’s first since 2010.
Josh Thomas, Montgomery Academy: Intercepted two fourth-quarter passes in a 35-21 win over Sand Rock. Also completed 8 of 16 passes for 121 yards and ran 17 times for 158 yards.
Jalen Thompson, St. Paul’s: Intercepted a deflected Demopolis pass late in the fourth quarter as the Saints rallied to win 21-14.
Chance Usry, Southside-Gadsden: Had a pair of sacks and an interception in a 30-14 victory over Wenonah.
Taylor Wilson, Addison: Kicked a 37-yard field goal and an extra point, ran in a two-point conversion, and had 81 rushing yards, including a 44-yard touchdown, in a win against Phillips-Bear Creek.
