Mrs. Gertrude Frances Norris, 69, was a native of Brewton and a resident of Thibodaux, La. She was born on April 13, 1944 and passed away on November 10, 2013.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Thibodaux Funeral home in Thibodaux, La. and on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula, La. A mass of Christian burial took place at 11 a.m. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

She was an extraordinary and colorful woman who enjoyed her time traveling, fishing, antiquing, gardening, and had a passion for food of all different types. She had a great love of nature and the outdoors. She loved her children and grandchildren tremendously. More than anything else, she loved her Sonny. They were inseparable. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James “Sonny” Norris; her children, Dr. Rollie Norris, Trudy Norris Baldwin and husband James, Zachary Norris and wife Melanie, April Norris Boudreaux and husband Tommy; her grandchildren, Natalie Norris Landry (Tait), Megan Baldwin Bourg (Luke), Zach Norris, Jr., Lauren Baldwin, Gerard Norris, Trent Baldwin, Luke Boudreaux, Frances Boudreaux, Paul Boudreaux and Luci Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Isabella Norris, Adeline Bourg and Baelor Landry; three sisters, June Brow Gafford, Carolyn Brown Barton, and Gayle Brown; one brother, Arthur Billingsley (Clara); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her biological parents, William Harrison Brown and Trudie Worthington Brown; and adoptive parents, Ira and Alice brown Billingsley; and sister, Jerrie Brown Self.
