Three charged with drug crimes after East Brewton traffic stop

Three men were arrested and charged Friday after East Brewton police said they found them with a “large quantity” of crack cocaine.

The men also had a small amount of cash on them when East Brewton police made the traffic stop on Snowden Street following an investigation into drug activity, East Brewton Chief Kenny Brazile said.

Arrested were:

• Maurice Johnson, 47, of Castleberry was charged with conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine)

• Edward Jenkins, 47, of Castleberry was charged with conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine)

• Harold Jenkins, 39, of Castleberry was charged with distribution of a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and possession of a controlled substance (crack)

Brazile said the incident remains under investigation.
