Brewton kindergarten students play Monday on the existing equipment on the playground. The students currently have swings and a slide.

Brewton Elementary School kindergarten students could soon have some new playground equipment.

The Brewton City Board of Education voted last week to purchase two pieces of equipment for a total of $31,474. The equipment will be similar to the new playground equipment at the main part of the elementary school.

Superintendent Lynn Smith said Gametime Equipment is supplying the playground pieces and will send a supervisor to help dig the holes needed for the equipment, but volunteers from the school’s PTA will help erect it.
