Mr. Edgar Allen Morris, Sr., 79, of Brewton, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at his residence after a brief illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a former member of the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department and served in the Army/National Guard. He was retired from a career in the oil fields.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Hattie Mae Gaffney; two brothers Richard Morris and Frank Morris; one sister Ida Mae Morris.

He is survived by his wife Pansey Searcy Morris of Brewton; two sons, Allen Morris, Jr. of Brewton and David Morris of Brewton; one daughter, Kathy (Billy) Emmons of Brewton; two brothers, Dewey Morris of Brewton and Buddy Morris of Cantonment, Fla.; two sisters, Amy Henry of Miss. and Eleanor Whitcre of South Fla.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Interment will follow in Hanberry Cemetery of Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
