BMS basketball takes down Jay

Both the Brewton Middle School girls and boys basketball teams ended their seasons with wins Monday at home as they closed out their 2013 season with wins over the Jay Royals.
The Brewton Middle School Lady Tigers finished their season with a huge win as they downed the Lady Royals 32-2 to finish with a 6-2 record.
In the boys game, Brewton earned a 39-10 win to finish with a 4-4 record.
BMS Lady Tigers 32, Jay 2
Brewton poured in 32 points and held Jay to only two points the whole game to end their season with a 30-point win.
The Lady Tigers held Jay scoreless until the fourth quarter while racking up 14 points in the first quarter and six points each in the second, third and fourth quarters.
The Lady Tigers led Jay 14-0 after one quarter, 20-0 at the half, and 26-0 at the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Brewton outscored Jay 6-2.
Karmiya Jenkins led Brewton with eight points while Breonna Dees had six. Kyla Bell chipped in four points along with Jakyra Spears while Morgan Longmire, Kayla Floyd and Jaden Miller all had two points each.
BMS Tiger boys 39, Jay 10
In the boys game Monday, Joshua Jolly scored 16 points—outscoring Jay as a team by six points—to lead Brewton to a 39-10 win.
The Tigers led Jay 13-2 after one quarter and 20-6 at the half. Following a 9-3 scoring advantage in the third quarter for the Tigers, Brewton took a 29-9 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, Brewton outscored Jay 10-1 to get the 29-point win.
Along with Jolly’s 16 points, Hayden Atkinson added six points, Michael Campbell and Devonta Bradley both had four points each, Jalen Walker had three points, Demonte Jenkins, Toby Jenkins and Joseph Nance all had two points each.
