Brewton police are investigating a series of vehicle burglaries and have arrested one juvenile so far — with more arrests expected.
Several cars were broken into overnight Friday night — three on Bonita Avenue, three at T.R. Miller High School and one at D.W. McMillan.
“The investigation is still pending, but so far we have arrested one juvenile,” Caylor said. “Further arrests are pending. We feel like we are going to close some other cases as part of this ring.”
Some of the vehicles had been left unlocked, while others had their windows smashed, Caylor said. One of the vehicles was even stolen from the scene and returned.
The suspects took cash, keys, driver licenses, credit cards — “anything they could get their hands on” — Caylor said.
In an earlier incident that police believe is related, the suspects also took computer equipment.
The incident remains under investigation.
