TRM B-team grabs win against Flomaton Saturday while Lady Tigers and varsity fall

The T.R. Miller B-team ended their season with a win Saturday at home against Flomaton while the Lady Tigers and varsity Tigers will enter their respective area tournaments on a losing note.
The B-team Tigers finished their regular season with a 7-7 record after coming with a 40-17 romp of the Hurricanes.
T.R. Miller’s Lady Tigers fell to 4-17 overall as they took a 39-30 loss. The varsity Tigers blew a late lead to suffer a 46-43 loss to see their overall record fall to 5-14.
Both the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and varsity Tigers will play in their area tournament games Friday in Mobile at Cottage Hill.
T.R. Miller’s girls will meet W.S. Neal at 3 p.m. while the boys will tangle with Cottage Hill at 7:30 p.m.

TRM B-team 40, Flomaton 17
Markail Mitchell poured in 16 points—just one point shy of Flomaton’s team total Saturday—to guide the B-team Tigers to a 23-point win over the Hurricanes Saturday night by a score of 40-17.
The Tigers led Flomaton 5-1 after one quarter and 16-5 at halftime after holding an 11-4 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, T.R. Miller held Flomaton scoreless while pouring in 11 of their own to increase their lead to 27-5 heading into the final quarter of play.
In the fourth, T.R. Miller edged out Flomaton 13-12 to get the 25-point win in their final game of the season.
Along with Mitchell’s 16 points, Joshua Jolly added eight points and Ahmaud Taylor finished with six points.
Austin Holmes added five points, Michael Campbell had four and Brooks Brown chipped in one point.

Flomaton 39, TRM Lady Tigers 30
Despite having a season-high seven scorers in the game Saturday against Flomaton, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers were handed a 39-30 loss by the Lady Hurricanes.
T.R. Miller led 9-7 after one quarter but saw their lead vanish in the second quarter as they were held to only two points while Flomaton poured in 13 to grab a 20-11 lead at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers mounted a small rally as they doubled up Flomaton 10-5 to cut the lead to 25-21 heading into the final quarter of play.
Down by four in the fourth, Flomaton ended the game on an 14-9 run to get the win by nine points.
Mekiah Williams led the Lady Tigers with nine points while Morgan Longmire added seven points. Akilah Brazile finished with five points and Kyla Bell chipped in three. Steely Ruzic, Star Drakeford, and Tiana Stallworth all added two points each in the loss.

Flomaton 46, TRM varsity 43
Leading 38-27 heading into the fourth quarter, T.R. Miller’s varsity boys were outscored 19-5 in the final quarter to suffer a 46-43 loss to Flomaton on Senior Night.
The varsity Tigers led Flomaton 11-8 after one quarter and 26-16 at halftime following a 15-8 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
T.R. Miller increased their lead to 11 points after three quarters as they edged out Flomaton 12-11 in the third quarter.
In the fourth, Flomaton outscored the Tigers by 14 points to seal the win by three.
Trae Walker led the Tigers in the loss with 20 points and Kellyn Winn fired in seven. Caden Lodge chipped in five points, Shawn Tolbert added four and Chardian Johnson chipped in three. Michael Woods added two points along with Tamerick Jenkins.
