Bad second inning hands JDCC baseball second straight loss Tuesday at NWFSC

After winning their season opener Saturday at home against Marion Military, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team dropped their second straight game Tuesday on the road at Northwest Florida State by a score of 6-3. The loss dropped the Warhawks to 1-2 this season—and all six runs were scored in one inning.
“We did not play exceptionally well in the bottom of second inning,” JDCC head coach Darrell Blevins said. “We had an 0-2 count on a batter (no balls and two strikes) and we hit them by pitch, followed by a mishandled pop fly, followed by a miscommunication bunt coverage, followed by a throwing error, then a two-run home run to give NWFSC six runs in the bottom of the second inning. Before that and after that we played OK. We just cannot give the other team so many extra opportunities.”
No other stats or game information from Tuesday was known as of press time.
JDCC saw their game Wednesday get cancelled due to rain in the area. The Warhawks are scheduled to be back in action Saturday at home against Mississippi Gulf Coast. Game time is set for noon and will be a doubleheader.
