TRM baseball stays undefeated Monday, while JV falls to Atmore

Playing against each other for the third time this season in a week, the T.R. Miller Tigers improved to 3-0 over the Escambia County Blue Devils and to 5-0 overall Monday with an 11-1 win over ECHS in five innings.
T.R. Miller held ECHS to only two hits and one run in the third innings while scoring two runs of their own in the second, one in the third, two more in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth to get the 10-run win.
Caden Lodge earned the win on the mound for the Tigers as he went the first two innings and allowed no runs, no hits, walked two and struck out four.
Zac Griffin pitched the next two innings and allowed one run, two hits, walked one and struck out two.
Drew Williamson went the final inning and allowed no runs, no hits, walked and struck out two.
At the plate for the Tigers of T.R. Miller, Jones Manning had a single and two RBIs while Williamson had two singles and the game-winning RBI. Hunter Brittain added one RBI as well.
Tripp Floyd had a single and a double and two RBIs while Griffin had a single and one RBI. Jo Jo Booker added a single while Lodge had a double and one RBI.

ECHS 16, TRM JV 7
In their second game of the season and second against ECHS, T.R. Miller’s JV team took a 16-7 loss to fall to 0-1-1.
T.R. Miller scored two runs in the first, three in the third and two more in the fourth while Atmore plated three in the first, five in the second, four in the third, three more in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Stokes Jennings took the loss on the mound. Also pitching for T.R. Miller in the loss was Russell Smith and Austin Holmes.
At the plate for the JV Tigers, Jennings had a single along with Jake Najor. Holmes added a single along with Smith. Brooks Brown had a double and Caleb Winton added a single.
Holmes had one RBI, Smith had two, and Brown had one.
