JDCC baseball extends winning streak after sweeping Enterprise

Eight wins in their last nine games: That is what the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team has accomplished after sweeping a three-game conference series with Enterprise State Thursday and Saturday in Brewton.
On Thursday, the Warhawks opened the series with a 15-3 win. On Saturday, JDCC won game one 9-5 and took game two 9-1.
The sweep for the Warhawks of JDCC improved the team to 16-16 overall and to 12-9 in conference play.
Thursday:
JDCC 15, Enterprise 3
Leading 6-1 after two innings, JDCC added eight runs in the fourth inning to propel them to a 15-3 win over Enterprise on Thursday.
JDCC pounded out 14 hits in the win with Logan Hill and Alex Jones leading the way at the plate.
Hill went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double while Jones went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a homerun. Craig Headley also helped lead in the win at the plate as he had a 3-for-5 day with five RBIs.
John-Mark Cosby added two hits and two RBIs while Brandon Goins added two hits and one RBI and Brandon Davis had two hits. Jonathan Moore had one hit in the win.
Taylor Baynes, Ryan Roberts and Scott Robertson all pitched in the win with Baynes being the pitcher of record.
The trio went seven innings and allowed 10 hits, three runs, all earned, walked two and struck out five.
Saturday: JDCC 9-9,
Enterprise 5-1
On Saturday, the Warhawks kept up their winning ways by sweeping Enterprise in two game.
In game one, a 9-5 win for the Warhawks, JDCC scored four runs in the second inning to erase a 3-1 deficit and take a 5-3 lead. JDCC added one in the fifth and eighth and two in the seventh while holding Enterprise to one run in the sixth and eighth innings.
Moore, Cosby, Headley, Jones, Dake Rivers, Tanner Zant, Davis and Goins all had hits with Headley and Jones having a double each. Moore, Headley, Jones, Rivers, Zant and Goins all had RBIs in the win.
Nick Helton, Tyler Henry and Trey Marshall all pitched with Henry earning the win and Marshall the save.
The trio went nine innings and allowed 11 hits, five runs, three earned, walked three and struck out seven.
In game two, JDCC scored seven runs in the fifth inning to turn a 2-1 lead into a 9-1 lead to help get the eight-run win.
Garrett Davis and Roman Donofro pitched in the win with Davis being the pitcher of record. The duo went seven innings and allowed seven hits, one earned run, walked one and struck out five.
Moore, Cosby, Matthew Holmes, Hill, Jones, Zant, Taylor Fought, Fox, Davis and Goins all had hits with Fought and Davis having two RBIs each and Goins adding one.
Jones and Sox had a double each in the win for the Warhawks.
