WSN softball blanks TRM 11-0

Earlier in the year in the first meeting between the two teams, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers softball team shutout W.S. Neal 6-0 for an area win in Brewton. On Thursday, playing in East Brewton, W.S. Neal returned the favor with their own shutout as they defeated the Lady Tigers 11-0.
The win for the Lady Eagles improved them to 11-8 overall and to 3-2 in area play while T.R. Miller fell to 9-5 overall and to 2-1 in area play.
In the game Thursday, W.S. Neal jumped on T.R. Miller early and often as they led 4-0 after one inning of play and 5-0 after two innings.
The Lady Eagles added three runs each in the third and fourth innings to take an 11-0 lead and held the Lady Tigers scoreless in the fifth inning to get the mercy rule win.
Haleigh Dubose pitched W.S. Neal to the win as she went the complete game five innings in the circle and allowed two hits, walked four and struck out six.
Moriah Brundidge was the pitcher of record for the Lady Tigers as she went two innings and allowed three hits, seven runs, six earned, walked four and struck out four. Taylor Austin went the next two innings and allowed two hits, four runs, none earned, walked one and struck out two.
At the plate for W.S. Neal, Madison Winchester, Dubose, Christina Robinson, Kaeli Brown and KeKe Floyd all had hits. Dubose, Erin Hartsel and Adria Barnett had two RBIs each while Robinson, Brown and Floyd had one each.
For T.R. Miller, Brundidge and Abbi Roberts had one hit each.
