TRM softball 10-run rules Cottage Hill for area win Thursday

The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers softball team got back in the win column Thursday at home as they shut out Cottage Hill 10-0 in six innings to get an area win. The win for the Lady Tigers improved them to 10-5 overall and to 3-1 in area play.
The Lady Tigers led Cottage Hill 1-0 after one inning and 4-0 after three innings. Leading 5-0 after the fourth inning, T.R. Miller plated five runs in the sixth inning to get the 10-run mercy rule win.
Moriah Brundidge helped T.R. Miller in the circle as she was the winning pitcher for the Lady Tigers. Brundidge went the complete game six innings and allowed five hits, no runs, walked two, hit one and struck out nine.
The Lady Tigers pounded out 13 hits in the win. Madison Douglas had two singles and Steely Ruzic added a double and a single and had three RBIs.
Mallori Floyd added a double and a single and one RBI while Krystal Bell added two doubles and two RBIs. Bell had the two game-winning RBIs on a walk-off double in the sixth inning to give the Lady Tigers their 10-run win.
Taylor Austin added a double and one RBI while Abbi Roberts had two singles, Brundidge had one single and Anna Kate Brittain had a single and one RBI.
