JDCC baseball splits at LBW Saturday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team saw their winning streak reach six straight wins with a win in game one of their conference doubleheader Saturday at LBW, but saw it end with a loss in game two.
JDCC defeated the Saints 14-4 in game one, but lost 5-4 in game two in extra innings. With the split, JDCC’s record went to 18-17 overall and to 14-10 in conference play.

Saturday game one: JDCC 14, LBW 4
Trailing 3-2 after four innings, JDCC outscored LBW 12-1 the remainder of the game to get a 14-4 win and get their sixth straight win.
JDCC used a five-run sixth inning and a six-run ninth to get the 10-run win.
Trey Marshall, Taylor Baynes, and Tyler Henry all pitched in the win with Baynes being the pitcher of record.
The trio of pitchers went nine innings and allowed 10 hits, four runs, all earned, walked four and struck out four.
Jonathan Moore had two hits and one RBI while Taylor Fought had one hit and one RBI and John-Mark Cosby had three hits and one RBI.
Logan Hill had two hits and one RBI with a homerun while Hunter Myrick had one RBI and Craig Headley had one hit.
Alex Jones added three hits and one RBI with a homerun, Michael Fox had one hit and one RBI while Brandon Davis had three hits and four RBIs with a triple.
Brandon Goins added one hit and one RBI while Greg Ciangiotto added one RBI.

Saturday game two: LBW 5, JDCC 4
In game two, JDCC blew a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh and was outscored 1-0 in extra innings to take a 5-4 loss and see their winning streak end.
JDCC trailed LBW 1-0 after one inning and 2-1 after two innings before rallying with one run in the fourth inning and two in the fifth to grab a 4-2 lead. From there, LBW plated three unanswered to get the one-run win.
Garrett Davis and Dylan Johnson pitched in the loss for the Warhawks with Johnson being the pitcher of record.
Davis and Johnson combined to go 7 1/3 innings and allowed four hits, five runs, three earned, walked two and struck out five.
At the plate, Cosby had a double and Hill added a hit. Jones had two hits and one RBI while Fought added a double and one RBI.
Dake Rivers added a double while Fox had a triple and Davis had a hit and one RBI.
