Youth sports teams get wins in recent games

East Brewton Giants:
The East Brewton softball Giants picked up an 11-7 win over the Thunder Thursday night. The win improved the Giants to 2-2 this season.
The Thunder led the Giants 4-3 after one inning and after two innings after both teams failed to score in the second inning.
In the third inning, the Giants rallied with four runs of their own to grab a 7-4 lead, but the Thunder plated three runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 7-all heading into the fourth inning.
In the fourth, the Giants scored four runs to grab an 11-7 lead and held on for the four-run win after holding the Thunder scoreless in the bottom of the inning.
Caitlin Hartsel earned the pitching win for the Giants as she went four innings and allowed seven runs, three hits, struck out nine, walked five and hit one batter.
At the plate, Briana Pugh had three hits and score three runs. Pugh also had two RBIs and four stolen bases.
Dominique Jackson added two hits with one being a double. Jackson scored two runs and had four RBIs.
Tatum Reeves scored one run as she had a homerun and two RBIs.
Taylor Peters had one hit and one RBI while Hartsel added one hit and scored two runs and had one stolen base.
The East Brewton softball Giants suffered an 11-4 loss to the Blazers Tuesday night to fall to 1-2 this season.
The Blazers scored six runs in the second inning to propel them to the win. The Giants trailed the Blazers 3-2 after one inning before the Blazers outscored the Giants 6-1 in the second inning to grab a 9-3 lead. In the third inning, the Blazers outscored the Giants 2-1 to increase their lead to 11-4. After both teams failed to score in the fourth inning, the Blazers earned the win by seven runs.
Brianna Pugh and Caitlin Hartsel pitched in the loss for the Giants. The duo combined to go four innings and allowed 11 runs on five hits, struck out four and walked nine while hitting three batters in the loss.
At the plate for the Giants in the loss, Hartsel had a double while Katelyn Wilson and Bailey Cooley had one hit each.
Wilson and Tatum Reeves both had one RBI each in the loss. Hartsel, Wilson and Reeves had two stolen bases while Cooley had one.
For the Blazers, Kaleigh Folsom pitched in the win.
Jade Baggett, Addie Smith and Folsom had one single each while Folsom also had a single.
East Brewton Mariners:
The East Brewton Mariners routed the East Brewton Cubs Monday night by a score of 20-3 to improve their record in the East Brewton Cal Ripken League this season.
The Mariners held the Cubs to one run each in the first, second and fourth innings while plating four of their own in the first inning, two in the fifth, three in the third and nine in the fourth to get the 17-run win.
For the Mariners at the plate, Jordan Sims had one hit, two RBIs and three stolen bases while Jordan Crane hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple and a homerun. Crane had seven RBIs and five stolen bases. Gavin Legett had two hits and one RBI with three stolen bases while Walker Hoomes added a double, two RBIs and two stolen bases.
Langha Parr added two hits, two RBIs and one stolen bases while Gaige Moulder had two doubles, Evan Hartsel had a single and one RBI, Dustin Godwin had one RBI along with Caleb Peters and Gunner Parker.
Sims and Crane pitched in the win and allowed two hits, struck out seven and walked one in four innings of work.
For the Cubs, Turk Morton, Tyler Brooks and Collin Stinson pitched in the loss.
Jordan Tolin and Carson Stinson had one hit each in the loss.
Other games:
In some Cal Ripken baseball and softball games Thursday and Monday night in East Brewton, the Athletics softball team, Brewton Nationals, Brewton Braves, East Brewton Braves, and East Brewton Mets won.
Monday: EB A’s softball 8, Dodgers 6
The East Brewton 10U Athletics softball team edged out the Dodgers Monday in East Brewton.
Ashli Wyatt pitched in the win for the A’s as she allowed six runs, three hits, walked five and struck out four.
At the plate, Wyatt had a single while Brianna Moye had two singles. Kendal Carpenter and Lexie McGhee also had one each.
For the Dodgers, Madison White pitched in the loss as she allowed eight runs, five hits, walked two and struck out three.
Jada Johnson, Jailyn Bondurant and Teressa Harris all had one hit each.
Monday: Brewton Nationals 11, EB Royals 4
In an interleague 12U baseball game, the Brewton Nationals took down the East Brewton Royals 11-4.
Brandon Coleman earned the pitching win for the Nationals as he allowed four runs, five hits, walked one and struck out five.
Logan Bush had a double and a triple while Earl Dolhite and Coleman had two singles each.
Drew Reed, Christian Nelson and Landon Qualls all had a single each while Mac Baxter had a triple.
For the Royals, Jacob Bondurant and Sawyer Lewis pitched in the loss. The duo combined to allow 11 runs, 10 hits, walked four and struck out seven.
Lewis had a single and a double and Jennings Hobbs had an inside-the-park homerun.
Bondurant and Petey McCants had a single each in the loss.
Monday: Brewton Braves 10, EB Braves 0
In a battle of the Braves, Bracken Pettis helped lead the Brewton Braves to a 10-0 win over the East Brewton Brave.
Pettis earned the pitching win as he allowed no runs, one hit, walked five and struck out 14.
For the Braves of Brewton at the plate, Pettis had a single and a double while Kyle Blevins and Logan Rowell had a double each. Cole Kelly and Dylan Estes both had a single.
For the East Brewton Braves, Konner Wood and Troy McCall pitched in the loss and combined to allowed 10 runs, seven hits, walked seven and struck out 12.
Dakota Rose had the lone hit for East Brewton.
Thursday: EB Braves 7, Mariners 4
In a Thursday night game in East Brewton, the East Brewton Braves earned a 7-4 win over the EB Mariners.
Wood and McCall combined to allowed four runs on five hits, walked four and struck out six in the win.
Wood had a triple while Dakota Graves had a single.
For the Mariners, Walker Hoomes, Jordan Sims and Jordan Crane combined to allowed seven runs, two hits, walked nine and struck out 10.
Sims had a single and a double while Dustin Godwin had a double. Gavin Leggett added a single along with Walker Hoomes.
Thursday: EB Mets 9, Brewton Nationals 6
Despite making five errors, the EB Mets took down the Brewton Nationals 9-6 Thursday.
Dylan Ingram earned the pitching win for the Mets as he allowed six runs on six hits, walked three and struck out six.
Ingram had two singles and a triple while Caleb Sexton, Josh McCall, Samuel Bosarge, and Christian Madded all had singles.
For the Nationals, Drew Reed, Earl Dolihite and Logan Bush pitched in the loss and allowed nine runs on seven hits, walked three and struck out seven.
Bush had a triple in the loss while Brandon Coleman had two singles. Dolihite added a double while Blake Jernigan and Landon Qualls had a single each.
