EB softball Giants and Brewton Nationals see wins in recent Cal Ripken games

Both the East Brewton Giants softball team and the Brewton Nationals earned recent wins in their games during their league’s Cal Ripken season.
The Giants took down the Blazers 4-2 to improve to 4-5 this season while the Nationals 10-run ruled the East Brewton Mets 12-2.
Giants 4, Blazers 2
With the bases loaded, the Giants sealed the 4-2 win over the Blazers with a triple play.
Giants pitcher caught a line drive at the mound and then followed with a quick throw to Makayla Crook on third base, who finished the game-winning triple play with a throw to Tatum Reeves at second base to seal the two-run win.
The Giants led the Blazers 2-0 after one inning and 3-0 after two innings before the Blazers cut the lead to 3-2 in the third inning. In the fifth inning, the Giants added their final run of the night and held the Blazers scoreless in the bottom of the inning to get the win.
Hartsel was the winning pitcher for the Giants as she went five innings and allowed two runs on four hits, walked six and struck out five.
At the plate, Hartsel had a double, one RBI, stole three bases and scored one run while Dominique Jackson added a hit and a stolen base. Makayla Crook had a hit and a double and scored one run while Reeves had two doubles, one RBI and two stolen bases. Madison Crutchfield added one hit and a stolen base in the win.

Nationals 12, Mets 2
The Nationals scored at least two runs in every inning while holding the Mets to two runs in the fourth inning to get a 12-2 win in four innings.
The Nationals scored five runs in the first inning, three in the second and two each in the third and fourth innings to propel them to the 10-run win.
For the Nationals, Drew Reed was the winning pitcher as he went four innings and allowed four hits, two runs, one earned, walked and struck out five.
At the plate, Logan Bush had a hit along with Brandon Coleman who had one RBI. Reed scored two runs while Blake Jernigan had a triple and three RBIs.
Earl Dolihite finished with two hits and one RBI while Landon Qualls had one hit and two RBIs. Mac Baxter had one RBI in the win.
For the Mets, Josh McCall, Caleb Sexton, Samuel Bosarge, and Sammy Wright all had hits with Bosarge having a double and one RBI.
Wright and Bosarge pitched in the loss with Wright being the pitcher of record.
Wright allowed one hit, four runs, all earned and walked two while Bosarge allowed five hits, eight runs, one earned, walked and struck out three.
