EB 10U baseball goes 1-2 in Opp

East Brewton’s 10U all-star baseball team recently went 1-2 in their tournament games in Opp.
East Brewton opened tournament play with a 15-3 loss to Opp Thursday night. When games resumed Saturday, East Brewton opened with a 13-3 win over Evergreen to stay alive in the tournament and advance to play Brewton.
Against Brewton, East Brewton lost 18-3 to get eliminated.
“It was great group of young men with a great support group from the parents,” East Brewton head coach Frankie Godwin said of the 2014 all-star team. “We just couldn’t overcome error’s and missed opportunities. When we played good we was on fire and when we fell in a slump we couldn’t get out, but they fought to the very end.”

Opp 15, East Brewton 3
Opp scored 12 runs in the first inning to cruise to a 12-run win over East Brewton by a score of 15-3.
Along with the 12 runs scored in the first inning for the Bobcats, Opp added three more in the third inning and held East Brewton to one run in the third inning and two in the fourth.
Walker Hoomes and Troy McCall pitched in the loss for EB as they combined to allowed 15 runs on four hits, struck out three, walked two and allowed four earned runs.
At the plate for East Brewton, Jordan Crane had two hits while Turk Morton and Tyler Brooks had one hit each. Konner Wood had a double. Crane had one RBI in the loss.

EB 13, Evergreen 3
Needing a win in the loser’s bracket Saturday, East Brewton got a 10-run win over Evergreen by a score of 13-3.
Trailing Evergreen 2-1 after one inning, EB scored one run in the second inning and 11 in the third to take a 13-2 lead. Evergreen’s final run came in the fourth inning.
At the plate for East Brewton, Jordan Sims had two hits and one RBI while Jordan Crane had two hits and one RBI.
Konner Wood had a double and one RBI while Ke’Shaun Paul had one RBI.
Tyler Brooks finished with one hit and one RBI along with Jordan Toulin.
Dakota Rose scored one run and had one RBI while Langham Parr had two RBIs.
Walker Hoomes finished with one hit and two RBIs while Gavin Legget had a double and one RBI.
On the mound for East Brewton, Jordan Crane went the complete game to get the win.
Crane allowed three runs, one hit, struck out seven, and walked four.

Brewton 18, EB 3
Facing off against Brewton in an elimination game, East Brewton lost 18-3 to get eliminated.
With East Brewton up 2-0 after one inning, Brewton took a 4-3 lead in the second inning. From there, Brewton scored 14 unanswered runs—eight in the third and six in the fourth—to get the win by 15 runs.
For East Brewton, Tyler Brooks had one hit while Walker Hoomes had two hits. Jordan Crane, Turk Morton and Brooks had one RBI each in the loss.
Konner Wood, Jordan Sims, Troy McCall, and Turk Morton all pitched in the loss and combined to allow 18 runs on six hits, struck out one and walked five.
