Softball and Babe Ruth all-stars set to begin

10U softball
The 10U Babe Ruth softball tournament will be held in Andalusia June 26-28.
A total of six teams will play in the tournament with two pools of three teams each.
The Red pool will consist of Atmore, Brewton and Andalusia while the Blue pool will be Covington County, Tri County and East Brewton.
At 6 p.m. Thursday, June 26, Brewton and Andalusia will play on field one while Covington County and East Brewton will play on field two.
Starting Friday at 10 a.m., Atmore and Brewton will meet on field one while Tri County and East Brewton will play on field two.
At 2 p.m., Andalusia and Atmore will play on field one while Covington County and Tri County will meet on field two.
Games will resume at 6 p.m. with the No. 2 seed in the Red pool playing the No. 3 seed on field one. On field two, the No. 2 seed in the Blue pool will play the No. 3 seed in the red pool.
On Saturday, June 28, at 10 a.m., the No. 1 seed from the Blue pool will play the No. 2 Red/No. 3 Blue winner on field one while the No. 1 seed from the Red pool will play the winner of the No. 2 Blue/No. 3 Red game from Friday on field two.
At 2 p.m., the winners from the games will play for the championship on field one.
No team information was known from Brewton’s 10U team.
Also, no other all-star information from any other age groups were known as of press time.
8U
The 8U softball tournament will begin Thursday, June 26 at the Dwight Mikel Athletic Complex.
Games will begin at 6 p.m. on field three with Covington County and Andalusia meeting each other.
Games will resume Friday, June 27, at 10 a.m.
Andalusia and Brewton will meet on field three and will be followed by Covington County and Tri County at 11:30 a.m.
At 2 p.m., Andalusia and Tri County will meet each other while Brewton and Covington County will play at 3:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., Tri County will meet Brewton.
On Saturday, June 28, games will begin at 10 a.m. with game one of bracket play being played. Game two will play at 11:30 a.m. with the bracket finals at 3:30 p.m.
12U
The 12U softball tournament games will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26. The 8 p.m. game will see Covington County meet Andalusia.
Games will resume on Friday, June 27, at noon with Covington County meeting Brewton on field one followed by Brewton and Andalusia meeting at 4 p.m.
At 8 p.m. the No. 2 seed will play the No. 3 seed.
On Saturday, June 28 at noon, the winner from Friday’s 8 p.m. game will play the No. 1 seed for the championship.
Babe Ruth
Brewton Babe Ruth league officials have announced all-stars for the 2014 season.
The Brewton Babe Ruth 15-year-old team (14-15) will play Friday, June 27 in Monroeville while the 14-year-old team (13-14) will also play in Monroeville on June 27.
In the 15-year-old tourney, Brewton will be joined by Monroeville and Atmore. The 14-year-old tournament will see Monroeville and Evergreen join with Brewton.
Making the 15-year-old team is: Jo Jo Booker, Lane Clark, Caleb Winton, Jordan Williams, Drew Williamson, Stoke Jennings, Derrick Barton, Russell Smith, Matt Hutchins, O’Neil White, Hunter Brittain, Brandon Moye, Connor Huskey, and Joshua Winton.
David Jennings will be the coach along with Howard Joyner and Eli Cook.
The 14-year-old roster includes: Joseph Blackburn, Kristian Taylor, Matt Smith, Andrew Etheridge, Tyler Pierce, Daniel Blair, Hunter Revel, Weston Riddle, Trentez Johnson, Jacobey Hawthorne, Daniel Reed, and Aaron Bosarge.
The team will be coached by Caleb Dickey and Reid Johnson.
Brewton 14U
Tournament play for the Brewton 14U all-stars will begin Friday at 5 p.m. against Monroe. The winner will get Evergreen Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Brewton/Monroe loser will take on the Evergreen versus Brewton/Monroe loser at 4 p.m. in the loser’s bracket.
The winner of that game will advance to the championship game Sunday at 3 p.m. against the Evergreen versus Brewton/Monroe winner.
The “if needed” game is scheduled for Monday at 5 p.m.
Admission to the tournament is $5 at the game. Age 12 and under is free.
Monroe will be the home team against Brewton in the first game Friday at 5 p.m.
Brewton 15U
The Brewton 15U team will begin tourney play Friday at 7 p.m. against Monroe. Monroe will be the home team. The winner will get Atmore Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Brewton/Monroe loser will take on the Atmore versus Brewton/Monroe loser at 6 p.m. in the loser’s bracket.
The winner of that game will advance to the championship game Sunday at 5 p.m. against the Atmore versus Brewton/Monroe winner.
The “if needed” game is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m.
Admission to the tournament is $5 at the game. Age 12 and under is free.
Monroe will be the home team against Brewton in the first game Friday at 5 p.m.
