TRM softball to host summer play-date June 26; orginal format gets changed

Although the amount of teams coming and the format have now changed, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team will still play their annual summer softball play-date tournament on Thursday, June 26.
Originally scheduled with seven other teams—Jay, Baldwin County, Elba, Flomaton, Daphne, Robertsdale, and Straughn—joining the Lady Tigers in the tournament at the YMCA Sports Park, the play-date will now see five teams joining T.R. Miller in the round-robin tournament beginning at 9 a.m.
Flomaton, Elba, and Straughn have since dropped out of the tournament while Kinston has been picked up.
Here is the new schedule:
At 9 a.m. on field D, T.R. Miller will take on Jay while Baldwin County and Kinston will play on field A.
At 10:10 a.m., Robertsdale and Jay will tangle on field D while Daphne and Kinston play on field A.
At 11:20 a.m., T.R. Miller will meet Robertsdale while Daphne and Baldwin County will play each other.
A break will take place at 12:30 p.m. along with field repair and games will resume at 12:30 p.m.
At 12:30 p.m., T.R. Miller and Baldwin County will meet on Field D while Kinston and Robertsdale will square off on Field A.
At 1:40 p.m., Robertsdale will play Baldwin County while Jay and Daphne will play on field A.
The last games of the day will begin at 2:50 p.m. with a match up of T.R. Miller and Daphne on field D and Jay and Kinston on field A.
All six teams will play four games each.
T.R. Miller’s games will be against Jay, Robertsdale, Baldwin County and Daphne while Jay will play T.R. Miller, Robertsdale, Daphne and Kinston.
Robertsdale will play Jay, T.R. Miller, Kinston, and Baldwin County while Baldwin County meets Kinston, Daphne, T.R. Miller, and Robertsdale.
Daphne will play Kinston, Baldwin County, Jay, and T.R. Miller. Kinston’s four games will be against Baldwin County, Daphne, Robertsdale, and Jay.
Games will be five innings or with a “drop dead” time limit of one hour. A 15-run rule and a 10-run rule will be in effect. A coin toss will determine the home team for each game.
An admission price of $5 is good for all day and the concession stand will be open throughout the day.
