The 2014 all-star season for the Brewton-area has been a productive one as the area has had four teams win their district championships and three coming in as runner-up.
Winning their championships so far this season has been the Brewton baseball 10U team, Brewton Babe Ruth 15U, Brewton softball 8U and Brewton softball’s 10U team.
After starting off with a loss in their tournament, the Brewton 10U Cal Ripken baseball team as they captured the district championship last Tuesday night in Opp with a 9-7 win over the Bobcats.
Brewton’s 10U all-star softball team won their district championship Saturday in Andalusia with a 16-2 win over East Brewton.
Brewton opened play Thursday with a 10-6 win over Andalusia. On Friday, Brewton won 17-7 over Atmore.
In Saturday’s semifinal game, Brewton took down Tri County 9-8 to advance to the championship game where they cruised over East Brewton by 14 runs to win the championship.
The East Brewton 10U softball all-stars went 3-1 in their tournament games in Andalusia and finished as district runner-up.
East Brewton opened with a 19-3 win over Covington County on Thursday before coming away with an 8-6 win over Tri County on Friday.
On Saturday, in the tournament semifinals, East Brewton once again defeated Covington County 13-4 to advance to the championship game.
In the championship game, East Brewton lost to Brewton 16-2.
Brewton Babe Ruth 15s won their district tournament in Monroeville Sunday with a 3-0 sweep of their tournament games.
Brewton defeated Monroeville 6-2 Friday, Atmore 8-4 on Saturday, and Monroeville again on Sunday by a score of 12-1.
The Brewton 8U baseball team finished as runner-up but declined their offer to go to the state tournament. The Brewton Babe Ruth 14s finished as district runner-up in Monroeville this past week.
No game information, stats or scores were known from Brewton’s 8U and 12U softball teams as well as Brewton Babe Ruth’s 14-year-old teams

The Brewton 10U baseball team will head to Coosa while the 15U Babe Ruth team will play at Westside-Mobile.
The Brewton softball 8U and 10U teams will play in Alex City as well as the district runner-up East Brewton 10U softball team.
The Brewton Babe Ruth 14s, if they accept the offer to go to state as the runner-up, will play in Andalusia.
