Work to begin on Jay Road; closure set for Wednesday
Travelers of Jay Road in Riverview will have to find an alternate route beginning Wednesday as county crews begin work on installing a culvert.
County Engineer Bill Bridges said Monday that the closure will last approximately six weeks.
“The drainage structure located on the airport drainage ditch is being replaced with a box culvert,” Bridges said. “This drainage structure is located within the Town of Riverview and located approximately a quarter of a mile west of Alabama Highway 41 on Jay Road.”
Bridges said the roadway is to be closed at 8 a.m. on Wed., July 9.
Traffic will be detoured on Thomas Road and Alabama Hwy. 41.
