Joining W.S. Neal in the tournament was Flomaton, Jay, Atmore, and Excel.
In the first game of the day against Jay, W.S. Neal lost 2-0. In the second game, W.S. Neal defeated Flomaton 2-0.
Against Jay, W.S. Neal lost set one 25-15 and set two 25-18. Against Flomaton, W.S. Neal won 25-19 and 25-17.
W.S. Neal would later defeat Atmore in three sets and Excel in two sets to complete the day with a 3-1 record.
“We came out against Jay not looking sharp at all,” W.S. Neal head coach Jason Blaney said. “The girls really picked up their play. Especially against Atmore where we lost set one but won last two sets.
“Against Excel we won set one, but where losing set two 18-24 but battled back and won 26-24. We still have work to do, especially with our communication on the court and receiving serve. But overall, great day and looking forward to a great season with these girls.”
