New ASWA football poll released: TRM stays No. 2, W.S. Neal gets more votes in 4A

From the ASWA

T.R. Miller remained No. 2 in class 3A this week and W.S. Neal picked up a few more votes in class 4A as the new Alabama Sports Writers Association release their new poll.

In the poll, for the first time since 2011, Hoover is not the top-ranked team in its class. For the first time ever, Bob Jones is the top-ranked team in its class. A 35-14 loss to Colquitt County (Ga.) meant the Bucs’ first 0-2 start since 1994.

Hoover wasn’t the only No. 1 to tumble. A 56-50 loss to Class 3A Colbert County dropped Tanner from the top spot in Class 2A and into No. 3. Fyffe moved into the top spot.

T.R. Miller will meet No. 9 Bayside Academy Friday night in Daphne for the first region games of the season for both teams.
