The Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce will host their first annual PCA Rodeo on Fri., Nov. 7 and Sat., Nov. 8. The rodeo will be held at O’Bannon Park.
Professional cowboys and cowgirls compete in PCA-sanctioned rodeos throughout the year in hopes of being one of the top-15 contestants from each rodeo event invited to participate in the PCA Finals Rodeo held in January each year.
Chamber director Judy Crane said that as rodeo season winds down for the year, the Brewton Chamber of Commerce PCA rodeo is sure to draw top contestants from miles around.
“Those contestants will need just a few more points to secure their place in the rodeo finals,” Crane said. “This means top quality entertainment for rodeo spectators.”
The rodeo will begin with a grand entry of riders led by the American flag. The rodeo then will feature eight different events and will conclude with the popular bull riding category, Crane said.
“Delicious foods, vendor booths, and entertainment outside the area will also provide an added bonus to the performances,” Crane said. “We project an attendance of 2,000 or more.”
While a large crowd is expected, businesses and organizations are encouraged to help sponsor the event.
Businesses and organizations can choose between two major sponsorships: Gold Buckle (one available) or Silver Spur (eight available).
Other sponsorships available will be: bucking chute sponsor; announcer sponsor; pick-up men sponsor; bull fighter sponsor; arena fence signs; and rodeo program signs.
“We are offering different levels of sponsorship opportunities,” Crane said. “We look forward to having businesses sponsor one or both nights of the event. Please contact the Chamber office at 251-867-3224 if interested.”
Brewton’s Chamber of Commerce office is located at 1010 Douglas Avenue.
