JDCC basketball suffers home loss Tuesday against Lawson

Too many turnovers: That is how Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball coach Allen Gainer described his team’s home opening loss Tuesday night against Lawson State.
The Warhawks of JDCC lost to Lawson 69-51 to fall to 0-3 this season.
“Much closer game than it appears,” Gainer said. “We led much of the game, and were only down seven with four minutes to go.”
JDCC led Lawson 22-21 after the first half of play, but was outscored by 19 points, 48-29, in the second half to take the loss by 18 points.
Keenan Williams led JDCC in the loss with 15 points and Fletcher Forte added 11 points. Adrian Rich joined in double figures with 10 points. Jerry Aaron finished with nine points in the loss while Darren Wilson, Lance Davis and Brandon Davis all had two points each in the loss.
Rich led with eight rebounds in the loss. Rich led with seven on defense while Aaron and Forte led with two each on offense.
Williams led with five assists and Rich and Ty’Qwan Bonner both had two steals each in the loss. Wilson led with two blocks.
