Brewton is gearing up for its signature end-of-the-year party – the Blueberry Drop – with show band “Fuego” set to rock the stage for a street dance to remember including fire performers capped by a dazzling fireworks show.
“We had considered canceling the show, but so many people have come to enjoy the fireworks and the chance to gather in the downtown, we will continue the tradition this year,” said Mayor Yank Lovelace.
The party this year will include inflatable slides for the younger set, a special Night Market for Choo-choo Farmers’ Market fans and a chance to sample brick-oven-baked pizza at the L House where the Last Night celebration will be ongoing.
Entertainment starts at 5 p.m. with local acts taking the stage and fire performers lighting up the night. Twin Creek Combine favorites “The Little Things” of New Orleans are set to join the show before Fuego cranks up the dance groove.
The show band performs favorite Motown, R&B, jazz, blues, country and Gospel hits. Fuego offers appropriate music for all ages and for any special event. The talented singers and musicians in Fuego have blended their talents performing at private parties, weddings, and community events. Accommodating the needs of their clients,  Fuego quality presentations are done professionally and with class.
Fuego captures the essence of every event with dynamic showmanship, high energy, great musicianship, flashy costumes, and superb vocal harmony.
Captain Blueberry will be there to spread his special brand of joy with t-shirt giveaways and other prizes during the evening. For more information, call 809-1777.
