Straughn sweeps TRM basketball Monday

All three T.R. Miller basketball teams took losses Monday night at Straughn.
The Lady Tigers lost 43-24 to fall to 7-5 overall this season while the varsity boys lost 62-48 to fall to 5-4 overall. No score was known from the B-team game, but the TRM Tigers took a loss. With the B-team loss, TRM fell to 1-5.
No stats were known as of press time from the B-team and varsity games.
In the girls game, Straughn doubled up TRM 10-5 in the first quarter and outscored TRM 15-9 in the second to hold a 25-14 lead heading into the halftime break.
In the third quarter, TRM outscored Straughn 10-6 to cut the lead to 31-24 heading into the fourth.
The third quarter points for TRM were their last points scored in the game as Straughn blanked the Lady Tigers 12-0 to get the 19-point win.
Mekiah Williams led with 11 points while Steely Ruzic had six. Kyla Bell finished with five points and Tiana Stallworth had two.
