Water park meeting set in February
A water park could be in Brewton’s future; however, before a final decision is made community input is need-ed.
Recently, council members approved hiring Birmingham engineering firm Goodwin Mills Cawood and St. Louis-based Counsilman-Hunsaker to perform a feasibility study to see if area residents want a water park – a major investment – and if it would be workable here.
The project would likely be located on city-owned property at Dogwood Hills and could include a softball/baseball complex to help land lucrative tournament play at the park. Focus groups will meet with researchers on Feb. 5 and 6 at City Hall to give input and learn more about the proposal. An open community meeting is set for 6 p.m. on Feb. 5 at city hall with everyone invited to attend.
