JDCC softball remains winless after PSC gets sweep Wednesday in Brewton

Jefferson Davis Community College’s Lady Warhawk softball team remained winless in 2015 Wednesday at the Pensacola Sate College Pirates swept the Lady Warhawks 6-1 and 13-5. The losses dropped the Lady Warhawks to 0-4 this season.

Game one: PSC 6, JDCC 1
In game one Wednesday in Brewton, PSC used a 5-run first inning to defeat the Lady Warhawks of JDCC 6-1.
PSC led JDCC 5-1 after one inning and added their other run in the second inning while hold JDCC scoreless the remainder of the game.
Kaitlin Hadaway took the pitching loss for the Lady Warhawks as she went seven innings and allowed eight hits, six runs, three earned, walked five and struck out seven.
At the plate for JDCC, Paige Wooley was 1-for-4 and Jordan Swindle was 2-for-4. Hannah Brake went 2-for-4 with a double and had the lone RBI. Chelsey Ramer went 1-for-3 while Katlin Bryars was 2-for-3.

Game two: PSC 13, JDCC 5
In game two, PSC plated nine runs in the fourth inning while JDCC made seven errors as the Lady Warhawks suffered a 13-5 loss.
PSC led JDCC 2-1 after three innings before erupting in the fourth inning with nine runs to take an 11-1 lead. JDCC added three runs in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead to 11-4, but was outscored 2-1 in the final two innings to take the loss by eight.
PSC added one run each in the fifth and sixth innings while JDCC added one run in the fifth inning.
The bright spot of the day for JDCC was Brake as she continued her hot bat and went 2-for-3 with two homeruns and three RBIs.
Swindle was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI while Ramer was 1-for-3. Bryars went 1-for-2 with one RBI and a double.
Katlin Hamilton went 1-for-1 along with Caroline Clark.
Brake, Bryars and Hadaway all pitched in the loss with Brake being the pitcher of record.
Brake went the first four innings and allowed eight hits, 11 runs, two earned, walked six and struck out two.
Bryars allowed one unearned run and walked two while Hadaway went two innings and allowed three hits, one run, none earned and walked two.
