St. Paul’s blanks WSN baseball Thursday to keep Eagles winless

The W.S. Neal baseball team remained winless to start the 2015 season as they fell to 0-2 Thursday with a 13-0 loss to St. Paul’s in five innings.
Playing at noon Thursday, St. Paul’s scored early and often on the Eagles as they used a four-run fourth inning and a five-run fifth inning to blow the game open.
St. Paul’s led WSN 1-0 after one inning, 3-0 after two innings and 4-0 after three innings before using the big fourth and fifth innings.
St. Paul’s held WSN to only two hits in the game and the Eagles of East Brewton made four errors in the loss.
Jared Cooper was 1-for-1 with a double for WSN while Alex O’Keane was 1-for-2.
Dalton Shell, Colton Morris and Jacobey Hawthorne all pitched in the loss with Shell being the pitcher of record.
Shell went the first three innings and allowed three hits, four runs, two earned, walked one, hit two and struck out none.
Morris went 1 2/3 innings and allowed six hits, nine runs, four earned, walked and struck out one.
Hawthorne went the final 1/3 of an inning and allowed two hits and walked one.
