Austin pitches one-hitter as TRM softball defeats Flomaton 11-1 Tuesday

In their first home game of the 2015 season Tuesday against Flomaton, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers softball team captured an 11-1 win over the Lady Hurricanes. The win kept TRM undefeated this season as they moved to 2-0.
The Lady Tigers held Flomaton to one hit and one lone run in the second inning while pounding out 12 of their own hits.
TRM led Flomaton 2-1 after two innings before scoring nine unanswered to claim the win by 10 in five innings. The Lady Tigers scored five runs in the third inning, one in the fourth and three more in the fifth to seal the win.
Taylor Austin pitched a one-hitter for the Lady Tigers as she went five innings and allowed one hit, one earned run, walked none, struck out three and hit three batters.
At the plate for TRM, Mallori Floyd led the offensive attack with a 2-for-4 day at the plate along with three RBIs and a triple. Leslie Holmes added two hits with one RBI. One of Holmes’ hits in the win was a triple.
Austin, Grace Ruzic and Madison Douglas all had one hit each while Myra Reiss had three hits. Steely Ruzic added two hits in the win.
Mary Madison Brown and Grace Ruzic had one RBI each while Reiss had two for the Lady Tigers.
