WSN softball gets no-hitter from Dubose in big win over MCHS Tuesday

W.S. Neal’s varsity softball team ended their seven-game losing streak in a big way Tuesday at home as they cruised to a 16-1 win over Monroe County. The win moved WSN to 4-10 this season.
Haleigh Dubose pitched the Lady Eagles to the win as she pitched a no hitter in four innings of work. Dubose faced 17 batters, allowed one unearned run, walked one and struck out nine.
WSN led MCHS 1-0 after one inning and 10-0 after two innings after plating nine runs in the second inning. After MCHS cut the lead to 10-1 in the third, WSN added five in the bottom of the third and one in the fourth to get the win by the 15-run mercy rule.
At the plate for WSN, Karissa Johnson went 1-for-2 with one RBI while Dubose had one RBI.
Erin Hartsel went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Kaeli Brown had two hits and three RBIs.
Jena Wyatt and Marishia Fraser both had one hit each and two RBIs. Erin Salter added two RBIs in the win for the Lady Eagles.
