WSNMS baseball sweeps Flomaton for third straight win

The W.S. Neal Middle School baseball team was seeing a lot of green on St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday as they traveled to Flomaton to play the Hurricanes. But it was the WSNMS Eagles that were the lucky ones as they swept the Hurricanes to pick up their second and third straight wins of the season.
The Eagles of East Brewton defeated Flomaton 8-3 in game one and 10-2 in game two to move to 3-5 overall this season.

Game one: WSNMS 8, Flomaton 3
Tucker Davenport pitched a two-hitter for WSNMS in game one as the Eagles defeated Flomaton 8-3.
Davenport went the complete game five innings on the mound for the WSNMS and allowed three runs, two hits, walked four and struck out five in the win.
At the plate for WSNMS, Maison Harrell had two hits and two RBIs in the win. Harrell had a triple for the Eagles.
Matthew Thomas added a single and two RBIs while Jennings Hobbs had a single and one RBI.
WSNMS built a 2-0 lead after one inning and added one run each in the third and fourth innings to lead 4-0. WSNMS scored four in the top of the fifth inning while all of Flomaton’s runs came in the bottom of the fifth.

Game two: WSNMS 10, Flomaton 2
In game two, Jennings Hobbs held Flomaton to three hits as WSNMS routed Flomaton by eight runs to earn a 10-2 win.
Hobbs went all five innings on the mound and allowed two runs, three hits, walked three and struck out five.
At the plate for WSNMS, Harrell, Thomas, Bradley Lowery, and Morgan Riley all had one single each. Harrell added two triples while Thomas, Lowery and Riley had one each.
WSNMS led Flomaton 3-0 after one inning and 5-2 after three innings. WSNMS added one run in the fourth and one four in the fifth to get the win by eight.
