Animal shelter needs support

Published 9:11 am Wednesday, April 1, 2015

On Thurs., March 26, when I voiced concern to the Brewton Chamber of Commerce concerning the petting zoo, I was told to call the Humane Society. The chamber was talking about the red building on Hwy. 31 close to Georgia Pacific paper mill. This is not the humane society. This red building is the Brewton Animal Control, run by the City of Brewton.
The Humane Society is not a building. It is people who care and are concerned about saving the lives of animals.
There are people fostering animals and finding loving homes for them.
There is an address for anyone interested in making a tax-deductible donation to the Humane Society of Escambia County: P.O. Box 912, Brewton, AL 36427; through Facebook .com/humanesocietyescambia or through PayPal at reneecorrelljones@gmail.com.
If you care, please be knowledgeable – the city of Brewton is not the humane society.
