JDCC softball splits with Faulkner State Thursday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team split a home conference doubleheader with Faulkner State Thursday. The Lady Warhawks took game one 8-3, but lost game two by a score of 9-8.
In game one, JDCC used a five-run fifth inning to turn a 3-1 lead into an 8-1 lead. FSCC added two more runs in the next inning, but JDCC took the win by five.
In game two, JDCC broke a 7-all tie in the sixth inning to take an 8-7 lead into the seventh. FSCC added one run in the seventh to tie the game up and force extra innings. In the extra inning, FSCC outscored JDCC 1-0 to get the win by one.
The split made JDCC’s overall record go to 27-23 and their conference record to 11-7.
