Faulty wood closes Jennings Park boardwalk, bridge

Residents are being asked to stay off the boardwalk and walking bridge at Jennings Park until further notice.
Connie Baggett, Brewton’s director of program management, made the announcement Monday morning.
“Inspectors have determined that bridge was built out of faulty wood and will need to be rebuilt,” Baggett said. “Representatives from the company that supplied the wood are due to come and inspect the bridge this week.”
City officials apologized for the inconvenience and stated that safety must come first.
“Please use alternate trails until further notice,” Baggett said.
