JDCC baseball defeats Lawson to get back on winning track

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball team ended their eight-game slump Wednesday as they traveled to Lawson State in Birmingham and came away with a 7-5 win.
JDCC used a 5-run fourth inning to aid them in the win. After leading 7-0 after the top of the sixth, Lawson scored one in the sixth, three in the seventh and one in the ninth, but JDCC was able to hang on for the two-run win.
At the plate, Dake Rivers led with two hits while Caden Lodge, Brandon Goins, Brandon Davis, Craig Headley and Bailey Hansen all had one hit each. Lodge and Alec Talley led with two RBIs each while Davis, Headley and Hansen had one each.
On the mound, Dylan Johnson, Nick Helton and Chase Laney all pitched.
The trio combined to go nine innings and allowed seven hits, five runs, four earned, walked three and struck out six in the win.
The win improved JDCC to 18-27 overall.
