Some Brewton boards – including the city board of education – may soon feature new faces, while others saw new appointments Monday.
Currently, the board of education member Regina Watson is set to expire. Mayor Yank Lovelace appointed councilmen Fred Barton and Frank Cotten to bring back a recommendation to the council.
Lovelace also appointed councilmen Pat Poole and Bill Littles to recommend a resident to fill a vacancy on the city library board.
Other appointments included:
• Steve Nelson Jr., May Downing and Ricky Thomas to the city planning commission;
• Chris Griffin and Amanda Bell to the city board of adjustments; and,
• Sammy Weaver to the city cemetery board.
