TRM golf finishes season in third place at sub-state

The T.R. Miller golf team played at the sub-state round Monday in Montgomery and came in third place.
Bayside Academy won the match as they shot a 291. Indian Springs came in second place with a 316 while TRM shot a 346,
Opp shot a 352 followed by Montgomery Academy’s 359, American Christian’s 366, Susan Moore’s 389 and Oakman’s 393.
“One step again,” TRM head coach Marc Edge said. “We played well on a really tough but fair course. I am really proud of our kids. The kids played well as individuals and as a team.”
For the Tigers of TRM, Will Smith led with a 79 followed by Troy Hart and Yancey Jernigan’s 86. Tylan McDonald shot a 95 and Hunter Harp shot a 107.
Smith missed advancing to the state championship round by three strokes.
