Sports briefs: JDCC softball to have camp; Rotch golf tourney to play in June; BSC to hold summer softball

The Jefferson Davis Community College softball team will host a summer softball camp June 8-10 at the JDCC softball field. The camp will be from 8 a.m. to noon for ages 7 to entering seniors.
The cost of the camp is $60 before June 3 and $75 the day of the camp.
Camp sessions are designed to improve fundamental skills of softball such as catching, throwing, hitting, bunting, pitching, fielding and overall knowledge. The fifth annual Donnie Rotch Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at the Country Club of Brewton on Sat., June 13 and Sun., June 14.
Prizes will be given per flight. Make all checks payable to Men’s Golf Association. Entry to this event is based on the first 86 paid teams.
Entry fee is $250 per team. A silent auction will take place on Saturday night.
Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Brewton Sportsman Club’s summer softball program will be starting its season June 8 at the Sportsman Club Park on MLK Drive in Brewton. The program will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. for ages 5 to 16 years old. There will also be an adult league for churches and any other adult league that would like to participate.
