Brewton to host 8U baseball tourney; EB names all-stars

The Brewton 8U baseball all-star team will be the host team for this year’s district tournament, as they will host six teams June 18-22.
Joining Brewton in the tournament will be Opp, Evergreen, East Brewton, Covington County and Andalusia.
The 10U tournament will be held in Covington County and will begin play June 11. Tournament teams include Brantley, Covington County, East Brewton, Andalusia, Brewton, Opp and Evergreen.
The 12U tournament will play in Opp as Covington County 11U, Brantley, Covington County 12U, Evergreen, Brewton, East Brewton and Opp will begin play on June 15.

8U tourney in Brewton:
East Brewton and Evergreen will kick off the tournament with a 6 p.m. game on Thurs., June 18. Brewton and Opp will play at 8 p.m.
The Brewton/Opp winner will play Covington County at 6 p.m. on June 19 while the Evergreen/East Brewton winner will get Andalusia at 8 p.m.
Loser’s bracket play will begin at 2 p.m. on June 20.

10U tourney in CC:
Brewton and Opp, along with Brantley and Covington County will begin play in the 10U tournament on Thurs., June 11 at 6 p.m. East Brewton will play Andalusia at 8 p.m.
The Brantley/CC winner will play Evergreen at 6 p.m. on June 12 while the Brewton/Opp winner will play the East Brewton/Andalusia winner at 8 p.m.
Loser’s bracket games will be played at 6 p.m. on June 12.

12U tourney in Opp:
In the 12U tourney, Brewton and East Brewton will meet up against each other at 6 p.m. on Tues., June 16.
CC 11U and Brantley will open the tournament at 6 p.m. on June 15 while CC 12U and Evergreen will play at 8 p.m.
The CC 11U/Brantley winner will play at 8 p.m. on June 16 while the CC 12U/Evergreen winner will play the Brewton/East Brewton winner June 17 at 6 p.m.
Loser’s bracket games will begin at 8 p.m. on June 17.

EB names all-stars
East Brewton’s Cal Ripken baseball league has announced their all-star teams for the 2015 season.
For the 8U baseball team, making the team includes: Tate Brooks, Luke Brown, Warren Cain, Scooda Gaines, CJ Gibson, Jman Jones, Elias Kelly, Conner Nelson, Dylan Pettis, Eli Stone, Kegan Tucker, and Cohen Ziglar.
The 8U all-stars will play in Brewton. The team’s first game is June 18 against Evergreen.
For the 10U all-stars, making the team includes: Dakota Rose, Gavin Rose, Collin Nelson, Easton Grace, Bryant Smith, JonJon McCants, Chasen Collins, Carson Stinson, Keshon Paul, Caleb Peters, Blake McNew and Brodie Gibson.
The 10U team will play their tournament in Covington County. The team’s first game is June 11 against Andalusia.
For the 12U all-stars, making the team includes: Russell Ball, Jacob Bondurant, Samuel Bosarge, Tyler Brooks, Jordan Crane, Walker Hoomes, Gavin Leggett, Troy McCall, Tristan Simson, Jordan Sims, Issac Smith, Jordan TOlin, and Konner Wood.
The 12U team will travel to Opp for their tournament games. The team’s first game will be against Brewton on June 16.
No East Brewton softball all-star names were known as of press time. No Brewton baseball or softball names were known as of press time.
