EB 12U finishes second at state

The East Brewton 12U softball all-stars finished as the state runner-up to Alex City Saturday in Brewton.
East Brewton finished with a 2-3 record in the tournament as they opened tournament play with a 15-3 loss to AC Thursday.
On Friday, EB rallied to defeat Brewton 12-11 before losing to Covington County 8-5 in their second game of the day.
After earning a No. 3 seed in the single elimination part of the tournament, EB faced off against CC and earned a 6-5 win in seven innings.
In the championship game against AC, EB lost 13-3 in four innings.

Game 1: Alex City 15, EB 3
Alex City scored eight runs in the third inning to take down EB 15-3 in the first game of the tournament Thursday.
Katelyn Wilson, Natalie Wyatt, Nakasia Smith and Madison Hawthorne all had hits for EB. Hawthorne’s hit was a double.

GAME TWO: EB 12,
BREWTON 11

East Brewton rallied from an 11-0 deficit after three innings to stun Brewton 12-11 in the second game of the tournament on Friday.
Brewton led EB 2-0 after one inning, 7-0 after two innings and 11-0 after three innings before EB scored 11 runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to get the win by one.
For East Brewton at the plate, Madison White had a single while Courtney Dudley had a double. Kendall Carpenter, Wilson and Hawthorne all had a single each while Wyatt had two singles.

GAME THREE: CC 8,
EB 5

In Friday’s second game, EB lost to CC 8-5 to finish as the No. 3 seed in the pool.
CC scored four runs in the first, one in the second and third innings and two more in the fourth while EB scored one in the first, and two each in the third and fifth inning.
White had two singles for EB in the win while Dudley ha da single, Carpenter had two doubles and a single and Wyatt had a single.

GAME FOUR: EB 6,
CC 5 (7 innings)

In the single elimination part of the tournament, EB defeated CC 6-5 in seven innings.
EB took an early 4-0 lead after one inning and 4-1 lead after two innings before CC scored one in the fourth and two in the sixth to tie the game up at 4-all.
After neither team scored in the sixth inning, EB got two runs in the seventh on two CC errors to take a 6-4 lead. CC scored one in the bottom of the inning, but EB took the win by one.
Dudley led EB in the win with a two-run homerun in the first inning and a single in the third. Ashli Wyatt added and RBI single in the seventh inning.
CC made six errors in the loss.
Wyatt got the start in the pitching circle and went five innings and allowed eight hits, four runs, walked and struck out one.
Madison White went the final two innings and allowed two hits and one run.

Championship game: Alex City 13, EB 3
In game one, Alex City scored early and often to down East Brewton 15-3.
Makayla Crook, Katelyn Wilson and Nakasia Smith all scored for East Brewton in the loss.
