Ruth Naomi Cameron, 62, passed away Fri., July 17, 2015, in a Pensacola, Fla., healthcare facility.
Funeral services will be held on Thurs., July 23, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with interment will following in Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Wed., July 22, from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Born in Atmore, she had been a resident of Brewton prior to moving to Pensacola one year ago. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two sons, James Cameron and Robert Cameron; one daughter, Tina (Michael) McCoy, all of Pensacola; one brother, Billy Raines of Missouri; four sisters, Helen Raines of Missouri, Hazel Beasley of Louisiana, Patricia Raines and Dale Hyde, both of Alabama; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

JIMMIE ROBERT SIMS
East Brewton
Jimmie Robert Sims, 70, of Curran Circle, East Brewton, passed away early Thursday morning, July 16, 2015, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a injuries sustained in automobile accident.
Funeral services were held on Sun., July 19, at 1 p.m., at the East Brewton Church of the Nazarene with Pastor James Meadows and Pastor Herbert Heller officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Cemetery East Brewton. Williams Funeral Home of Brewton directed.
He was a native of Butler County, a former resident of Georgiana, and a long time resident of East Brewton. He was a member of the East Brewton Church of the Nazarene. He attended school in Georgiana and Escambia County, Ala., and was a U.S. National Guard veteran.
He was a retired electrician from T.R. Miller Mill with 29 years of service and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Arlene Blair Sims of East Brewton; sons, Jimmy Wayne (Angela) Sims of Repton and Brian Keith (Ann) Sims of East Brewton; brothers, Gene Sims and Hilton Sims; sisters, Merle Kiser and Ruby Lambeth, all of Brewton; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Brewton

George Gary Gilbert, 70, of Damascus Road in Brewton, passed away Sun., July 12, 2015, in a Biloxi, Miss., hospital after a brief illness.
He was a native of Louisiana, a former resident of Ohio, and a long time resident of Brewton.
Memorial services were held Thurs., July 16, at 4 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilbert officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the American Legion, and a retired millwright from the timber industry. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta “Bobbi” Gilbert of Brewton; one daughter, Gina Gilbert (James) Thomas of Brewton; two step-children, Wayne (Choumpree) Curry of Ohio and Tina Curry of Brewton; one brother, the Rev. Bill Gilbert of Texas; one sister, Judy Wymgraves of Hawaii; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Earl Parker, 56, of Jay Road in Brewton, passed away Thurs., July 2, 2015, at a local hospital after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be held Sat., July 25, at 2:30 p.m. at 315 Sams Lane in Brewton (Hart Hill Community) with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
He was a native and long time resident of Brewton who attended Murphy High School in Mobile and was a former heating and cooling repair technician and he enjoyed stained glass craftwork.
He is survived by his father, Bill Parker of Brewton; son, Ian Parker of Atlanta; two brothers, Leland Parker of Perdido Key and Willie Parker of Brewton; one sister, Katrina Parker of Brewton; aunts, Ginger Hise of Mobile and Tina Hart of Brewton; uncles, David Hise of Mobile and Bill Drummond of Brewton; niece, Lauren Morris; nephew, Lance Parker; a number of cousins; and best friend, Lee Freeman of Brewton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Hart Parker; his wife Dianna Parker, and a sister-in-law, Leah Parker.

Robert Jackson, 88, of Grapefarm Road, located in Brewton’s Damascus Community, passed away Tues., July 14, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held for Sat., July 18, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Reece, the Rev. Tony Dinkins and the Rev. Wayne Lindsey officiating. Interment followed in Weaver Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. He was of the Pentecostal faith, a U.S. Army veteran, and a retired box inspector and printer from T.R. Miller Mill Company with 35 years of service.
He is survived by his son, Ronnie (Patsy) Jackson of Jay, Fla.; one daughter, Karen Morin of Brewton; one brother, Leroy Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Doug Jackson; three brothers, Harvey Jackson, Eugene Jackson and McCoy Jackson; and two sisters, Claudia Hawks and Irene Smith.

Willie “Dee” James Mims, 94, of the Owassa Community, died on July 10, 2015.
Funeral services were held on Sat., July 15, at 2 p.m., at Second Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Evergreen with the Rev. Jimmy Taylor and Pastor Herman Bradley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors and Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors directing.
He was born on April 15, 1921, in Owassa to the late Jake and Lucy (Parker) Mims. He was the first of three children.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Willie Mae Palmore of Jonestown, Penn.; brother, Jessie Lee Mims of Owassa; spouse, Elouise Mims-Wright of St. Augustine, Fla.; spouse, Beatrice King of Georgiana; daughter, Jacqueline Smith of St. Augustine, Fla.; and two sons, Lavan Mims of Atlanta and Jessie “Pete” Lee Mims of St. Augustine, Fla.
In loving memory, he is survived by his former spouse, Vader Mims of Evergreen; eight children, Charles Edward (Dorothy) Mims of Tallahassee, Fla., Mack Daniels Mims of St. Augustine, Fla., Phyllis Linda Mims of St. Augustine, Fla., and Bernadette Cecilia Mims (Jeffery) Searls of North Babylon, N.Y.; step-son, Gary Lewis Boykin of Temple Hills, Md.; Sandra Dee (Frank) Robinson of Leander, Texas; Timothy LeKeith Mims of Ft. John Wesley Wilson Sr., 69, of Victory Street, East Brewton, passed away Wednesday morning, July 15, 201, in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Memorial services were held on Sat., July 18, at 11 a.m. at the Divine Temple Church with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
He was native and long time resident of East Brewton who attended the Divine Temple, a member of the American Legion, and a retired supervisor from the Escambia County (Ala.) Road Department with 20 years of service.
He is survived by his sons, John Wilson Jr. of Atlanta, Alan (Kim) Taylor of Columbia and James (Kathy) Wilson of Tallassee; daughters, Deborah Wilson Cathy Taylor of Dothan and Susan (Brad) Howell of Brewton; brother, Larry (Ann) Wilson of Bay Minette; sisters, Mae (John) Calhoun of Riverview and Kathy (Richard) Gerber of Dothan; 10 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Taylor and Terry Wilson, and a brother, Perry Wilson.

Jerry Wayne Newby, 60, of Churchhill Street, East Brewton, passed away Tues., July 14, 2015, in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Thurs., July 16, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton with the Rev. Jim Blair officiating and interment following in Union Cemetery.
He was a native of Andalusia and a long time resident of East Brewton. He was of the Christian faith, attended W.S. Neal High School and was a former security guard at T.R. Miller Mill Company.
Survivors include son, Jason (Jenny) Newby of Brewton; daughter, Mandy (Michael) Buckhault of East Brewton; two brothers, Larry Chisum and Terry Chisum, both of East Brewton, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Newby and Buna Mae Chisum; brothers, David Newby and Johnny Newby, and sister, Virginia Pee Wee Abston.

EDWIN ALTON HENDERSON
Castleberry

Edwin Alton Henderson, 90, of West Cleveland Avenue in Castleberry, passed away Mon., July 20, 2015, in a Gulf Breeze, Fla., health care facility after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Fri., July 24, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Henderson and the Rev. Tommy White officiating. Interment will follow in Buffington Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
He was a native and long-time resident of Conecuh County and a former resident of Virginia Beach, Va. He was a retired pipefitter chief with the United States Navy with 22 years of service. He was a member of London Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Strawberry Festival Committee and was a member of the Castleberry City Council.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Henderson.
Survivors include his son, Dennis Henderson of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Linda Loulies of Navarre, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

CATHERINE SUZANNE LEES SMITH
Brewton

Catherine Suzanne Lees Smith, 73, of Brewton, died on Sat., July 18, 2015, at a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a short illness.
A memorial service will be held Thurs., July 23, at 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Brewton following a private graveside service at Union Cemetery in Brewton with the Rev. Parker Wilson officiating and Williams Funeral Home directing. The family will be receiving friends in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church immediately following the memorial service.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1941, in Miami, Fla. As a young child, she moved to Mobile with her family, where she attended Murphy High School. It was at Murphy that she met her sweetheart of 54 years, Marion (Butch) Smith. The couple began their married live abroad as Butch served in the military in England and in France.
She trained as a registered nurse at the Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing, where she began her career as a floor nurse. The Smiths “temporarily” moved to Brewton 42 years ago, as Cathy would say. She worked at D.W. McMillan Hospital for more than 36 years – 22 of which were in the capacity of director of nurses. Retiring from the hospital in 2009, she enjoyed spending time at her river home, traveling and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Marion “Butch” Hunter Smith Jr.; her son, Marion “Deke” (Linda) Hunter Smith III of Nashville, Tenn.; her daughter, Kimberly Anne Smith of Franklin, Tenn.; her grandson, Karl Hunter Smith of New York, N.Y.; granddaughter, Katherine Helen Smith of Nashville; and siblings, Nancy (Peter) Lesslie of Knoxville, Tenn., Thomas (Gloria) Lees of Yuba City, Calif., Gayle (Dennis) Sandlin of Prattville, Janet Lambard of Simms and Laura (James) Wallis of Trussville.
She had a keen mind and incisive wit. She was a devoted wife, mom and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
