Two are behind bars on drug charges thanks to a citizen tip.
The Brewton Police Department received the anonymous tip Friday afternoon that led to the arrest of James Patrick Bagwell, 45, of Flomaton, and Jared Matthew Hoffman, 30, of Georgia.
BPD Assistant Chief Randy Nicholson said the caller reported suspected drug use off of Pea Ridge Road in Brewton.
“When Officer Layne Herrington arrived, he questioned the two subjects and both admitted to the drug use, and he recovered a quantity of colonzapene, or prescription pills,” Nicholson said.
Bagwell was charged with possession of a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance.
Hoffman was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
