Friday night the T.R. Miller Tigers (5-1) will travel to Opp (4-1) to face the Bobcats. The game is a region matchup. Opp is coming off a lost to Andalusia, 19-16.

TRM head coach Jamie Riggs says limiting Opp’s offense from making the big play is key in the game. “Opp has tremendous speed,” Riggs said. “That has led them to score a lot of points this season. We have to try to limit their offense if its possible and not give up the big play.

“Last year we gave up too many big plays against them,” he said. “We got to get the game to the fourth quarter. We’re going into the game knowing we have to score points to defeat them. They have some tremendous players and the staff does a great job getting them the ball and putting pressure on your defense.”

Opp is outscoring opponents 167-127 this season. Last meeting, Miller lost to Opp 42-51. Miller leads the overall matchup 17-13.

In the region Miller is 3-0. Opp is 2-0.
