TRM varsity vs. Straughn

Miller varsity would win the first set, 25-18. It would lose the second set to Straughn, 22-25. In the third set TRM would pull out the win, 25-21. The final set proved the closest of the evening, having Miller edge out the win, 27-25.

On her varsity team, Miller head volleyball coach Terri Lynne Peacock says the match kind of got off track halfway through, but is proud the team kept battling. “We lost momentum and control in the second set,” Peacock said. “But in the third we gained it back and scored some big points. Our focus as we finish out our regular season play is being consistent. We do some really great things and then we some how find ourselves battling from behind. I am thankful that when we find ourselves battling back we find some fight in ourselves to get the win.”

Leading the Lady Tigers was sophomore Steely Ruzic who led the team in kills and was 100 percent behind the service line.

With the win Miller varsity improves to 14-2 for the season.

Miller volleyball will be in action Thursday against Andalusia at the Brewton Middle School. JV will play at 4 p.m. followed by varsity at 6 p.m. Seniors will be honored Thursday night, concluding Miller’s home games for the regular season.
